Reminds me of the places I've been
Visions of good times that brought so much pleasure
Makes me want to go back again . . .
- Jimmy Buffett
My love is photographing world ports and, by extension, travel. There are many ways to travel inexpensively, and sometimes free. Recently I came across a group named Your Travel Bureau (YTB), an online service that offers ease of reservations at competitive prices and also presents an opportunity for people like me to become an active Travel Agent, sign up other people wishing for the same benefits, and travel more and with less money.
I set up a cruise and needed one night's stay in Rome prior to departure. I went on YTB's site and booked a hotel in the center of Rome near the Coliseum for under $100 for a double room. I saw the photos, the rooms, the area. It's confirmed.
Traveling via internet reservations is safe and easy. We took a two-month trip starting in French Polynesia, to Roratonga, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand and Japan -- all booked on line, only one phone call made (to Japan National Tourist Bureau with a quick question). This tour went without a hitch or glitch.
If you are interested in YTB, let's talk . . . if you're a traveller and have ideas on world ports I MUST see, please write.
See you on the road.
